For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life – John 3:16
Jesus is the Son of God.
He is coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.
JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED AT CALVARY
We despised him and rejected him; he endured suffering and pain. No one would even look at him—we ignored him as if he were nothing. “But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne. All the while we thought that his suffering was punishment sent by God. But because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received.
HE ROSE AGAIN ON THE THIRD DAY
Then they looked up and saw that the stone had been rolled away. The stone was very large. They entered the tomb. As they did, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe. He was sitting on the right side. They were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. But he has risen! He is not here! See the place where they had put him. Go! Tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. It will be just as he told you.’ ”.
NOW HE IS THE KING OR KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: ‘Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth’; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”
(1 Peter 2:21-24)
And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Wherever you are, whatever you are going through, there is hope BECAUSE JESUS CARES ABOUT YOU!
So does Jesus care about you? Yes he does!
How do we know this?
Often we disqualify ourselves from God’s love because of our history, our failures and shortcomings. Sin has separated us from God and we can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. So how can we accept what we have not earned? The Bible says that nothing in all of creation can separate us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. And to accept God’s love is to trust his patient, forgiving and gracious stance towards us. Only He has the power to free us from guilt, shame and condemnation to give us a life of wholeness. All we have to do is turn to Him.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God – Hebrews 12:22
6 REASONS WHY CHOOSING TO FOLLOW JESUS IS THE GREATEST DECISION YOU COULD EVER MAKE
Surrendering your heart to Christ does not exempt you from the struggles and sorrows of this life but it does give us eternal life and divine resources to navigate through life’s challenges on this side of heaven. If you believe with all your heart that God exists, that His word, The Bible is true, and that Jesus Christ is who He says He is: “I am the way the truth and the life”, John 14:6 then this is your reason to choose Him, choose life!
1. YOU WILL KNOW A LOVE LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER KNOWN:
There is no greater demonstration of devotion, no greater sacrifice of love than to lay down your life for another. John 10:11 says, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep”. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends”. The faith of a Christian is built on this kind of love. Jesus gave His life for us. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while were still sinners, Christ died for us”. Once we’ve experienced Christ’s radical, unconditional love, nothing can separate us from it. Just a we freely receive Christ’s love, as His followers, we learn to spread this love to others. Being a follower of Jesus allows us to experience love in its purest form.
2. YOU WILL KNOW HAPPINESS AND LASTING PEACE:
The freedom we experience in Christ gives birth to lasting joy and peace. 1 Peter 1:8-9 says, “Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith – the salvation of your souls”. When we experience God’ s love and forgiveness, Christ becomes the source of our joy. Even in the midst of great trials, this joy will emerge from deep within our spirit and leave us with a sense of peace. That’s what the Bible means when it says in Philippians 4:7 “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”.
6: YOU WILL SPEND AN ETERNITY WITH GOD:
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has put eternity in their hearts”. This is one of the reasons we experience an inner longing, or emptiness, or spend our lives searching for something, until our spirits are made alive in Christ. Then as God’s children we receive eternal life as a gift. Romans 6:23 says, ” For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. Eternity with God will far exceed any earthly expectation we can begin to imagine about heaven. That’s what the Bible means when it says in 1 Corithians 2:9, “Eye has not seen, nor ear hear, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which god has prepared for those who love Him”.
A NEW BEGINNING
3. YOU WILL KNOW FREEDOM:
Similar to knowing God’s love, absolutely nothing compares to the freedom a person experiences when released from the heaviness, guilt and shame caused by sin. Romans 8:2 says, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death”. The moment someone decides to become a follower of Jesus is a powerful moment. It is at that moment of salvation that our sins are forgiven or ‘washed away’. As we read God’s Word and allow His Holy Spirit to work in our hearts, we are increasingly set free from sin’s power. Not only do we experience freedom through forgiveness of sin, and freedom from sin’s power over us we also begin to learn how to forgive others. God’s word says in Colossians 3:13, “bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do”. As we let go of anger, bitterness and resentment, the chains that held us captive are broken through our own acts of forgiveness. The Bible says in John 8:36, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed”.
4. YOU WILL KNOW GOD IN A PERSONAL WAY:
God sent Jesus, His only Son, so that we could have a relationship with Him. 1 John 4:9 says, “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that god has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him”. God wants us to connect with Him on a relational level, much like you would with a close friend. He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. He wants to have a constant presence in our lives so He can comfort, strengthen, speak and teach us how to live. He speaks to us through His word, He leads us by His Holy Spirit and He wants to be our closest friend.
5. YOU WILL DISCOVER YOUR LIFE’S PURPOSE:
You were created by God for a unique purpose. Everything about you is unique. No two people have the same DNA. That’s what the Bible means in Ephesians 2:10 when it says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before hand that we should walk in them”. As we are changed by His word, we begin to realise the potential we have in us and begin to exercise and develop the gifts God has given us. When we discover Who’s we are then our fullest potential and true spiritual fulfilment will come as we walk in the purposes and plans God not only designed for us but designed us for!
Prayer of Salvation
“I believe that God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life and so Lord I come to you and I repent of my sin, I have lived my life my way and so today I ask forgiveness and trust you now to be my Lord and Saviour.
Thank you for dying in my place so that I can have life and life in all it’s fullness. I give you my life, surrender it to you and ask you to be Lord. Help me to live for you by the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray all these things in Jesus name. Amen”
