The Freedom House is a national non profit organisation dedicated to providing a six month residential programme for young women suffering from eating disorders, self harm, depression and the effects of abuse in all its forms. We will provide a programme which will address all aspects of a young woman's well being: physical, spiritual and emotional. Our goal is to see woman forgiven, released, equipped and excelled to move on to living the purposeful life God has planned for her. Who does our programme help? The Freedom House is part of the ministry of Green Pastures, the people's church and as such, is a distinctly Christian organisation. We aim to help young woman between the ages of 18 and 34 who have a strong desire to change and who specifically seek our care for a variety of addictions and hurts. Young women who apply to our programme will be dealing with issues such as: • Eating disorders • Self harm • Depression • Anxiety • Suicidal ideation • Substance addiction • Effects of sexual, physical and emotional abuse • Unplanned pregnancy or any issue not listed above which may be controlling a young woman's life. Why we exist Within Northern Ireland it has been well documented that eating disorders, depression and suicide rates are all on the increase. Within our own Northern Board area we have amongst the highest rates for drug addiction, teenage pregnancy and deaths relating to alcohol addiction. Behind these statistics young women in our community are suffering and there is a desperate need for organisations like The Freedom House to provide support for these young women, tackling and dealing with the root causes of their behaviour and addictions rather than medicating symptoms. By helping one young woman at a time we seek to break the cycle and bring freedom and restoration in a safe home-like environment. This in turn will positively affect the generation our young women will parent and drastically reduce the chances of history repeating itself. We believe that this way freedom for one will mean freedom for many. We need your help The Freedom House cannot exist without your help. The Freedom House will constantly be undertaking a variety of projects and events in our communities designed to fundraise for and promote the centre and to reach out into our communities, for example fashion shows, gift wrapping, bags of love, beauty therapy sessions and packages. We need committed individuals, families and businesses to partner with us on a monthly basis to support each girl through the programme and help us to sustain the growth of the ministry. Giving envelopes are available for one off donations or please consider giving to us by committing to a monthly standing order. A monthly gift of £5, £10. £20, £50 or even £100 will enable us to build a ministry and help young women turn their lives around. Every regular giver is vital to our ministry; you will be kept up to date with recent developments, receive a monthy prayer letter and be specifically invited to all of our special events and programmes.
